Check this area each month for new activities. Each month, we’ll try to give you a fun activity that has an educational base, but is also something that’s fun that your kids will want to repeat over and over again.
Hey, Something’s Missing!
This is a great game to help enhance memory skills.
A bunch of fun household objects or a few of your child’s smaller toys
- Start out small. Place five toys or household objects in front of your child.
- Allow your sweetie to study the array of objects for a few seconds…maybe even tell you the name of each item. Next, have your child close their eyes while you remove one object.
- Upon opening their eyes, can your child tell you which item you removed?
- Now try the same thing with a much larger set of items. This is a great way to encourage memory skills and comprehension…two skills that will certainly payoff later when it’s time to study.
