Mulberry Mission Work

Personally, our families are active in both local and foreign mission work. Vanessa's son and daughter both spent time in Lesotho, Africa this summer working in orphanages. Michelle's daughter and husband spent time this past summer in El Pino, Honduras building homes and teaching at a vacation Bible school. While her son, John-Michael, spent his summer in Malawi, Africa washing feet and giving shoes to AIDS orphans. Mulberry Toys sent tons of great toys and games along on each trip and hopes to do so for many mission trips in the future.

Worldwide Giving & Opportunities for Customer Giving

Make-A-Wish Foundation
We love the direct connection and impact the Make-a-Wish has on the lives of children living with life-threatening medical conditions. Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 161,000 children around the world. Although it has become one of the world's most well-known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission.

Mulberry Toys is proud to be part of a network of more than 25,000 volunteers enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities.

Heifer International
Corporately, we love the ideas and actions behind Heifer International and the fact that they have active groups in our mission areas of Honduras and Lesotho, areas in which we have personal connections. Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth. Heifer believes in giving families a source of food, their own livestock, and the knowledge of how to properly care for and breed the animals. Rather than simply giving food or other short-term relief, helping in this way creates the opportunity for eventual self-reliance. Later, as the recipients share their animals' offspring with others - along with their knowledge, resources, and skills - an expanding network of hope, dignity, and self-reliance is created that reaches around the globe. This simple idea of giving families a source of food rather than short-term relief caught on and has continued for over 60 years. Today, millions of families in 128 countries have been given the gifts of self-reliance and hope
