We are excited about all of the new items we are receiving daily here at Mulberry!  We are stocking up for the fall and upcoming holiday seasons!  We do have layaway, specifically forthe Christmas season and all of those awesome toys and crafts that you want to give your kids and grandkids.  So come on in and visit us!  It would be a pleasure to see all of you beautiful people!

Well, as school lets out and summer begins, schedules change.  Don’t forget that Mulberry Toys is your number one stop for the very best toys that can entertain, educate and empower your children.  Our camps that are being offered are designed to make your child’s summer a great one!  It’s been a pleasure being part of this aspect of Madison’s community.  I am thankful for the opportunity given to me by two of the very best employers.

That’s what my daughter calls the alphabet song. As in, “Mommy will you sing the ABCD’s?” Learning to say and write the alphabet is such a huge part of pre-reading and so important for preschoolers. One thing I’m loving right now are these Write-On Placemats. They are great for practicing letters and numbers–we’ve even got crayons specially made for them that wipe right off. Such a great gift for the 3 to 5 year old set!

What are the most common words heard during summer break?  That’s right!   “Mom, I’m bored!”  Well, here at Mulberry we are offering many opportunities for your children to learn, grow and have fun this summer!  There are fantastic art and craft camps for school-aged children starting  the first week of summer vacation and lasting throughout the entire summer.  We also have classes designed for 3 and 4 year-olds that use themed-activities to create and express ideas through music and art.  We have creative teachers who are looking forward to making your child’s summer a great one!  Check out our website for more information.

I just sold an abacus to a customer here in the store. Talk about a classic toy! It’s such a helpful learning tool when young children are learning to count–to have an object to touch while saying the number. Also great for learning colors, patterns, etc. Isn’t it wonderful when we can learn and have fun at the same time?!

“Oh, Mama, what did you do with my old pajamas?  My old pajamas they’re so good!“  What would we do without songs about moms and pajamas??!  It will be Mother’s Day in 5 days, and I hope you are beginning to think about doing something special for or with your mom.  A perfect day would be to treat her to Scoops, then browse the nearby boutiques or antique stores, whichever she prefers.  Then, when she’s not aware of what you are doing, you can slide on in to Mulberry to check out our newest items.   You’ll see some new Sassy Pet Saks and lovable stuffed animals that make their own sounds, the cutest things ever!   (Kids read this blog, right!?) 

I’m planning to see my mom this weekend.   Maybe even when I’m still in my ol’ pajamas, we’ll sit around catching up on life.

It’s Madisonfest and Equifest today, but the weather changes peoples’ approach for the events of the day.With each new passing storm, people are scurrying for cover like little squirrels, tiny creatures,  fleeing insects.    This reminds me – we have a new, fascinating  toy here at Mulberry:   the Hex-Bug Nano Set is all the rage for little people who like to imagine, collect and build.  Basically, inside of a Nano Habitat Set is everything a child  needs to treat his Hexbug to a wonderful life!   Believe it or not, these little creatures act just like any live bug!

Look outside…is the sun shining?  It is in Madison, Georgia.  Bubbles are floating lazily past my window and the scent of some delicious bloom is creeping through my open door.  What if every day were so glorious?  Yes, what if it were?  Would I appreciate the grandeur of a day like today?  Would I even notice that it was grand?  The forecast calls for rain this weekend.  We need that, too.  The pollen is washed away and the trees take a healthy drink.  And yes, if I am outside, I will get wet.  There is no way around it.  But when the sun shines again, I will take a little moment to soak it up, and I will thank God for reminding me that the rain is a necessary part of life, even a blessing!  Got plans for the weekend?  The doors at Mulberry Toys are open, rain or shine!  Make us a part of your day.

Funny how what’s “all the rage” changes from year to year, month to month, week to week, and even day to day.  Silly bands are a must have for every girl and boy, young or a little older.  Do you have a clue as to what I’m talking about?  Silly bands are colorful, adorable rubber bands that all the kids are wearing nowadays around their wrists.  The very coolest thing about them is that they are all different shapes, like musical instruments, cars, zoo animals, fashion items, etc.  Once you take them off, they go back to their original shape!  Now, isn’t that the cutest thing ever?  Come to Mulberry and pick up the latest, fun fashion!

Sometimes wonderful things just happen.  We stumble upon greatness and even in the midst of it, we find it impossible to believe that we’re there.  Sometimes… Other times, however, we have amazing experiences because someone took the time to make plans, to meet, to collaborate, to start all over to make it even more amazing, and then to finally step back and say, “Yes, this is it!”  So today, I say to you, “Yes, this is it!”  A wonderful summer awaits and Mulberry has it all planned out.  Summer schedules will be posted soon, but in the meantime, know that we’ve been hard at work, and it’s going to be great!
